There are various online services appearing that will happily convert your files for free. For example, they will convert a Word .doc to a PDF, or a BMP image to a JPEG.
- One is from the bizarrely named Grumblebum
- Another from the more logically named Media Convert
- Yet another from Zamzar
- As an added bonus, should you want to convert one measure of something to another- (e.g. degrees Celcius to Farenheight, or Miles Per Hour to Kilometers Per hour) check Online Conversion
